My flight for England did not depart Valencia until 9:30pm which gave me an extra day to explore.  I chose to spend my last hours in Valencia at the science museum “Museum de les Ciències” where i discovered my new interest in space exploration!  Before leaving the museum I grabbed a late lunch that was fittingly delivered by a robot!

Essex, England

There is an expression “no rest for the weary” and I certainly felt that applied to me.  10 hours after touching down on English soil I went antiquing with my mum and my sister and that evening was spent at the Toppesfield Village Hall and participating in a trivia fundraiser. This evening not only resulted in our team coming second to last but also a rather bad hangover!

Prior to visiting I had requested a Sunday roast lunch…   Sunday roasts are a British tradition and the Angel and Harp pub is known to offer one of the best.  Sadly cooking a Sunday roast is something I failed to learn from my mother and if I am being honest, any kind of cooking at all.  There is nothing more delicious and comforting than eating roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and other vegetables all smothered in gravy.  Many people believe fish and chips is the quintessential British meal but for me it’s the Sunday roast!

My last few days included eating copious amounts of chocolate, pub lunches and binge watching the “Clarson’s Farm” series….  A show I wholeheartedly recommend!

So what now…

Well, my husband served me with divorce papers just before leaving on my trip so clearly I have a lot to deal with when I get back.

I am both excited and nervous for my next chapter which I anticipate is going to be rough, at least at the beginning… Divorce, getting my business running again (for a third time) and making sure I have a permanent and safe home feels very daunting right now.  Just like walking the Camino I will focus on putting one foot in front of the other and continue moving forward.

My Camino was mostly dedicated to my brother and I felt his presence often during my daily walks.  I wrote that Keith’s life was unconventional… but, what is unconventional?  My interpretation is an adjective we use when we don’t understand how another person lives as they do not fit the mold we have collectively (and perhaps wrongfully) decided is normal.  I hope my next chapter is “unconventional” because if I have learned one thing during this Camino is that you must live life YOUR WAY while being honest, loving, hard working, humble, generous, grateful, with integrity and most importantly with boundaries.  This is how I will continue my life moving forward.

Thanks for being with me on my journey. Your support has meant the world to me, I love you all.  Buen Camino, Louisa xxx
