My last morning in Santiago was fantastic. I met up with Liz (Liz was part of my second wave Camino family) and we decided to splurge. Our final breakfast in Santiago was at a very fancy hotel and it was worth every euro… omelettes to order, all you can eat buffet and champagne all consumed at a window seat overlooking Santiago De Compostela, it was the perfect send off.
Five hours later that included a plane ride I was sitting at my friends bar in Oliva, Spain. After a couple of celebratory drinks and a shower I retreated into my very own room with a king size bed… heaven!
My new routine is picking up a salad at the supermarket, walking 1/2 hour to the beach and reading my book. It’s quite fascinating watching the beach dwellers here.., they seem to rotate with the sun, opting on a building view over ocean view to maximize skin sun exposure. A good tan is important here!
Tonight I have been roped into waitressing at my friends bar for trivia night. This is a decision Chris and Lloyd might regret. Bar Amigos is amazing from its location on a plaza right next to a beautiful church surrounded by narrow cobbled streets to the amazing food, drinks and hospitality. It is not surprising their bar is a huge success. Chris and Lloyd work so incredibly hard and have a large and loyal following….. let’s hope I don’t mess things up for them tonight!!
